My Passion
From the very first time I picked up a camera in my graphic design class, Junior year of high school, I knew…That camera resting in the palm of my hand was meant to stay. I was in love. It felt so natural and I haven't stopped making art through the eye of the camera ever since that moment
MY JOY
Now, years later, as a stay at home mom of an amazing 11 year old, adorable 7 year old and wife of the most supportive and encouraging husband I could ask for, I have kept my camera busy photographing friends and family, maternity, newborns, children, events, parties and business groups. I am now thrilled to be specializing in newborn photography throughout their first year.
I find newborns fascinating. I could watch their sweet faces all day long and I get the joy of doing so, behind the eye of the camera.
Capturing those moments of tranquility and innocence, not one worry in the world, full of wonder and hope, all the dreams and possibilities, at the tips of their tiny fingers and tiny toes. I capture all of that in their sweet peaceful faces for you to have and cherish, forever.
My Experience
After finding love in photography, I started an internship instantly at a local photography studio, Robert Charles Photography. Throughout the next 10 years, I worked with that very talented family, learning, growing, being mentored daily and inspired as an artist, more than I could ever imagine.
Being able to work at Robert Charles Photography through the monumental switch from film photography to digital photography, I was lucky enough to learn everything from loading large format film, back room production work, assisting on fun portrait sessions and beautiful weddings. I then found a niche in the production department; retouching, editing and designing custom portrait and wedding albums.
Throughout my 10 year experience at RCP, I attended Holyoke Community College and graduated with an Associates Degree in Visual Arts. I then attended the University of Hartford and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts, with a major in Photography.
I have been a member of the Connecticut Professionals Photography Association and Professional Photographers Association of New England for many years, and have had my work displayed at both associations photography shows. I received the awards "Best Children's Portrait" and "People's Choice Award" at the CPPA convention in 2007. My awarding winning photograph was also published on the cover of the Hartford Observer in 2006.
